Tower Commercial Real Estate capped off the year with leases totaling approximately 80,000 square feet, valued at over $26 million, at the 31-story, 449,000- square-foot SunTrust International Center in Downtown Miami.
Leases included one of the market’s largest 2016 commitments with 42,000 square feet leased to the General Services Administration, which relocated from Brickell Avenue, as well as 18,000 square feet to the Podhurst Orseck Law Firm, and a 6,000-square-foot renewal with the American Lawyers Media. The leasing team of Jon Blunk, President; Cristina Glaria, Director, and Laurel Oswald, Executive Director represented landlord Crocker Partners in the transactions.
Blunk cited the building’s $15 million makeover as a major draw for tenants. The building renovation along with the addition of the Sky Terrace, fitness center, conference center and high-end, rent ready spec suites positioned the building as the location of choice for companies seeking a premier Downtown location.
“The Miami CBD market continues to improve with declining vacancy and rising rents,” said Blunk. “Crocker Partners’ investment in revitalizing SunTrust International Center was well timed and repositioned the building as one of the market’s best located and most highly amenitized,” said Blunk.
Among other tenants drawn to SunTrust International Center since the renovation are Marcum LLP; Stewart, Tilghman, Fox; Bast Amron, and U.S Legal Support.
Tower CRE is exclusive leasing agent for SunTrust International Center, as well as downtown Miami’s Citigroup Center. Overall, the Miami-headquartered firm, with offices in Fort Lauderdale and West Palm Beach, has a leasing portfolio topping 3 million square feet of Class A office space.
